Ordered these new chunes today:

Kathy Diamond : Sunshine – 12″ [Was hesitant about this one for a while. It’s got a pretty unique broken/disco feel to it, produced by Maurice Fulton, and while I like the vocal, it seemed perhaps a bit too ‘poppie’ to play out, but was eventually persuaded by the fact that there’s an instrumental on the flip]

DJ Kent : In The Bush (Theo Parrish Remixes) – 12″ [More Theo Parrish remix tastiness. He is on fire]

Talib Kweli : Get By (Blackbeard Reworks) – 12″ [More dopeness from the Yam Who camp. Not sure how convinced I am by the rap, but the hook, the strings and the rest of the track are all brilliant. Also eventually sold by the nice instrumental on this one]

Ursula Rucker : This – With Jazzanova / Tempest – 12″ [Jazzanova do Detroit beatdown. Seems like a theme for this batch, but I was once again sold by the inclusion of an instrumental, since Miss Rucker can get a bit up her own ass at times]
